Prof. Dr. Yiğit Özer Tiftikçioğlu graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1999. He completed his specialisation in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery at Ankara Training and Research Hospital in 2005.
In 2005, he was appointed as Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist at SB Bolu Köroğlu State Hospital. In order to pursue an academic career, he started to work as an operator doctor in Ege University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery as a chief assistant in June 2006.
In June 2011, he passed the associate professorship exam and was subsequently appointed as an associate professor at Ege University, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. In addition to plastic surgery, he received the titles of Hand Surgery Specialist in 2011 and Oral, Facial and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist in 2012.
As a result of his ongoing scientific studies at Ege University, he was entitled to receive the title of Professor and was appointed as a professor to Ege University Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in February 2017.
He is currently working at Ege University Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. Her special interest in reconstructive surgery is breast repair surgery after mastectomy. Her special interests in aesthetic surgery are rhinoplasty (aesthetic rhinoplasty) and breast aesthetic surgeries such as breast augmentation, breast lift and breast reduction.
Between 2016-2018, he took part in the board of directors of the Turkish Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He is currently the Aegean Region representative of the Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association. He is married and has two children.
