Liposuction in Izmir
Liposuction, also known as body shaping, is not an operation that can respond to obesity and cellulite treatment. It is performed to correct body contours for those who have tight and elastic skin.

Liposuction
Liposuction, performed under general anesthesia or sedation, is one of the most frequently sought surgical procedures for aesthetic purposes worldwide. Known as "fat suction" or "fat removal," liposuction is not a weight loss method but a body contouring procedure intended for shaping the body.
Liposuction can be applied to areas such as the thighs, hips, buttocks, abdomen, waist, upper arms, back, inner knees, chest, chin, neck, ankles, and calves, where sagging occurs due to significant weight loss, lifestyle-related deformities, or the effects of gravity. It can be performed alone or in conjunction with other aesthetic surgical procedures.
Liposuction is not a solution for obesity or cellulite treatment; it is intended for adults with firm and elastic skin to improve body contours.
What is Liposuction?
Also known as "body contouring surgery," liposuction is a cosmetic procedure aimed at removing resistant fat from the body and shaping it. It allows for the permanent removal of fat cells from targeted areas, helping to define body lines and improve proportion.
As with all surgical procedures, expert opinions should be sought before undergoing liposuction. Adults who do not have systemic health issues, whose general health does not pose a risk for surgery, and who have not achieved success with exercise and diet to address localized fat deposits may consider liposuction. Maintaining the results obtained from liposuction depends on the individual's lifestyle. It should be noted that liposuction may not have long-lasting effects for individuals with irregular eating habits, lack of exercise, or frequent weight fluctuations.
How is Liposuction Performed?
Liposuction can be performed under general or local anesthesia. During the procedure, small incisions of 2-4 mm are made in the area with excess fat. Thin, long cannulas are inserted through these incisions and used to loosen the fat with controlled back-and-forth movements. The loosened fat is then suctioned out using a surgical vacuum or syringe.
The amount of fat removed during liposuction varies depending on the individual’s weight, skin characteristics, and the targeted areas. After liposuction, localized bruising and pain may occur. To help the body regain its shape, a compression garment should be worn during the first three weeks post-operation.
