How is Eyelid Aesthetics Performed?
Before eyelid aesthetic operations, the patient is given local or general anaesthesia. Which anaesthesia method will be applied is determined according to the patient’s expectations and the surgeon’s preference.
Incision lines for eyelid surgery are determined by considering the natural structure of the eye so that scars are not visible. During upper eyelid aesthetics; an incision is made from the natural fold of the eye inside the upper eyelid; excess skin is removed and the muscles are tightened after the excess fat in the area is removed.
During lower eyelid aesthetic surgery, an incision is made at the base of the eyelashes and excess skin and fat in the lower eyelid are removed through this incision. Alternatively, the “transconjunctival” technique can also be applied. In this technique, the connective tissues in the lower eyelid are repaired and the fat deposits causing bagging are shaped, while the excess skin is not cut and removed.
